Yuetai International Group yesterday announced its newest project in the capital – YT Mall, a shopping and entertainment centre.

The mall, whose grand opening is scheduled for 2020, will be located in Stung Meanchey commune, near Phnom Penh International Airport, with an area of 30,000 square meters.

Li Xiao, general commercial manager at Yuetai, said the project will provide “the full experience of new urban life in Phnom Penh”.

She said the project will help fill a gap in the area for shopping malls that tailor to local tastes.

“There aren’t any large malls for local residents. Our goal is for YT Mall to become a place where locals go shopping and eating,” Ms Li said.

“Stung Meanchey doesn’t have large entertainment and shopping centres, so people have to go to the city centre.

“The mall has been designed with young people in mind, using a simple and industrial look to turn a French auditorium into a new landmark in the city,” she added.
