Siem Reap provincial police arrested a US man on Monday in connection with molesting four under aged girls in Siem Reap city.
Brigadier General Doung Thavary, deputy Siem Reap provincial police chief, on Wednesday said that Cline Rugh James was arrested on Monday after provincial anti-human trafficking and juvenile protection bureau received a complaint from mothers of two girls who were sexually abused.
“Now police found the four sexually-abused girls and all of them are aged under 15,” Brig Gen Thavary said.
She noted the victims told police officers that Mr James had met them at Pub Street area in Siem Reap city, brought them to his rental house in the city and then molested them.
Brig Gen Thavary said that Mr James offered each girl $10 to $50 each time and that the girls were molested multiple times since earlier this month.
Brig Gen Thavary said that Mr James was arrested at the police station on Monday after he was asked to be questioned over the accusation.
“Police officers arrested him at police station after he had been questioned,” she said, noting that Mr James denied the accusation.
“We are sending him to the provincial court for questioning today,” she said, adding that Mr James visited Cambodia twice– earlier this year and on May 7.
