King praises Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations

King Norodom Sihamoni has praised China for its key role at the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations being held in Beijing, saying that it promotes cultures and understanding.

The King met with President Xi Jinping in Beijing and thanked the Chinese government and its people for fostering deeper relationship with the royal family, according to Royal du Cambodge’s Facebook post.

The King said that Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations (CDAC) initiated by Mr Xi played an important role in promoting and exchanging cultures and understanding among all countries.

“Cambodian people will firmly stand with Chinese people in all circumstances. Cambodia wishes to congratulates the Republic of China for making 70 years of achievements so far and also praise its influence in international affairs and fully support ‘Belt and Road Initiative”, the post said.

Mr Xi said that the ties between China and Cambodia has clearly shown that both countries fostered genuine friendship, according to the post.

“China will continue a full support for Cambodia’s development and continue to cooperate with Cambodia in order to elevate a strategic partnership of both countries to a new level,” Mr Xi said.
