The Chinese Embassy to Cambodia said that Chinese police officers will cooperate with Cambodian cops to investigate a gang of Chinese men who said in a video clip that they will cause insecurity in Preah Sihanouk province.
In its official Facebook page on Sunday, the Chinese embassy said that it is very concerned about the video clip involving a gang of Chinese who attempted to cause insecurity in Preah Sihanouk province.
It said that more than ten men, who said they hailed from Chongqing city, have recently posted a short video clip, saying that they will cause trouble in Sihanoukville.
“The Chinese embassy to Cambodia is very concerned about this issue and will coordinate police officers in Cambodia and China to investigate this issue,” it said.
Major General Chuon Narin, Preah Sihanouk provincial police chief, confirmed that his provincial police officers along with specialized cops are investigating the case.
“Preah Sihanouk provincial police officers and specialized cops are investigating the case in order to identify the Chinese group,” Maj Gen Narin said.
The China-Cambodia Journalist Association supported the statement of the Chinese Embassy to Cambodia.
“The China-Cambodian Journalist Association wish to condemn the bad intention of this Chinese group,” it said.
