King leaves for Beijing tomorrow to attend conference

King Norodom Sihamoni will leave for Beijing tomorrow to attend the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations in order to strengthen Cambodia-China relations.

Oum Daravuth, an adviser to the Queen Mother’s secretariat, today said that the King will be accompanied by a delegation of senior government officials, following an invitation by Chinese President Xi Jinping.

“I just know that His Majesty will leave the Kingdom tomorrow [today] to join the Conference on Dialogue of Asian Civilizations in Beijing starting on Wednesday,” Mr Daravuth said yesterday.

Under the theme of exchanges and mutual learning among Asian civilizations and a community with a shared future, the conference includes an opening ceremony and sub-forums, Xinhua reported Xu Lin, director of China’s State Council Information Office, as saying.
