PHNOM PENH, (Xinhua) — Indian Vice President Mohammad Hamid Ansari will pay an official visit to Cambodia from Sept. 15 to 17, where he will witness a signing ceremony of two cooperation documents between the two countries, according to a statement from the Cambodian foreign ministry on Wednesday.
The visit is aimed to further strengthen and deepen the ties of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, the statement said.
“His Excellency Mohammad Hamid Ansari will hold official talks with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and will preside over the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on Tourism Cooperation and the agreement on Mekong-Ganga Cooperation between the two countries,” it said.
The Indian vice president will also pay courtesy calls on Senate President Say Chhum and National Assembly President Heng Samrin during the visit. Besides, he will visit the Angkor Wat Temple and the Mekong-Ganga Textile Museum in northwest Cambodia’s Siem Reap province.
