PHNOM PENH (Khmer Times) – The American University of Phnom Penh (AUPP) announced a groundbreaking ceremony at the end of this month which will begin construction on one of the largest campuses in Phnom Penh.
The new campus will open for operation in 2016.
Sek Barisoth, Director of Communications and Public Relations at AUPP, said many private schools and universities have been established in Phnom Penh and have provided students with more opportunities to access higher education.
Unfortunately, low admission standards and unqualified faculty have made the quality of the universities here questionable to some.
The new AUPP campus is located in Khan Russey Keo, just opposite Chea Sophara’s residence.
The campus is expected to accommodate 1,000 students and will be fitted with international-standard classrooms.
The new five-story, 20,000 square meter building will be constructed on nearly seven hectares of land. The university buildings will be equipped with high-tech facilities that will provide modern classrooms for higher education.
