A Taiwanese man was jailed for 30 years today for trafficking nearly four kilograms of methamphetamine in Phnom Penh.

Municipal Court Presiding Judge Seng Leang said tourist Tsai Jan-Ko, 58, was arrested on December 29, 2017, in Daun Penh district by Interior Ministry anti-drug police.

“The court decided to convict and sentence him to 30 years in prison,” Judge Leang said.

“The court orders him to pay $200,000 to be put towards the state revenue.”

He recommended the accused appeal to a higher court if he did not accept his sentence.

Court deputy prosecutor Kol Bun said the accused was an active distributor of drugs to foreigners in the capital.
