The Chinese government has provided more than $7.66 million to Cambodia through the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund 2018.
Foreign Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn and Chinese Ambassador Wang Wentian today signed agreement for the funds.
Most of the money will cover activities related to capacity building, education, research and exchange programs at the Foreign Affairs Ministry.
“Today, it gives me great pleasure to represent Cambodia to sign the agreement on Cooperation Projects of the LMC Special Fund 2018 with Wang Wentian, Chinese ambassador to Cambodia,” said Mr Sokhonn.
He told Mr Wang that in 2017, he had the same pleasure to sign an agreement with his predecessor, Ambassador Xiong Bo, for the first batch of 16 cooperation projects supported by the LMC Special Fund 2017 under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation framework.
“I would like to extend my profound thanks to the Chinese government for approving and financing 19 Cambodian projects under the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Special Fund 2018, with at total amount of $7.66 million,” Mr Sokhonn said.
