PHNOM PENH, (Khmer Times) – The chief of the Supporting Committee of the Cambodia National Rescue Party in North America, Kea Ry, will not take part in the welcoming of Sam Rainsy, the CNRP’s president, to the US and Canada from May 7 to 25.

In the official letter that Mr. Ry wrote to the Cambodian CNRP, he requested to have his name taken off list of contact persons, and welcoming committee, for Sam Rainsy’s visit.
In his letter to the head of the Executive Committee of Cambodia’s CNRP, Yim Sovann, he ststed, “I regret that the meeting between and Chea Kimly [coordinator for the CNRP-NA] and I, which you organized [Mr. Yim Sovann], did not come about.”  He added that CNRP- NA publicized the list of the members of the welcoming committee without consulting him, and he was the primary contact person for Mr. Rainsy’s visit.
“I and all the leaders [of the supporting committee] unanimously decided to take my name off the list of contact persons.” He will not attend the welcoming ceremony for Mr. Rainsy’s US goodwill tour either.
