Four men charged with illegally operating charcoal kilns

The Kratie Provincial Court yesterday charged four men, including a Vietnamese national with illegally operating charcoal kilns and sent them to provincial prison.

Police identified the four suspects as Eav Kimly, 34, Korm Sobin, 32, Soun Vanndy, 24 and Ho Sunchoeun, 33, a Vietnamese national. They were arrested on Saturday in Snuol district’s Khsem commune in connection with committing natural resource crime.

Kratie investigating judge In Manit questioned the four men on Monday morning and charged them with illegally operating charcoal kilns according to articles 58 and 61 of the Protected Areas Law.

Judge Manit said in the order that Mr Kimly, Mr Sobin, Mr Vanndy and Mr Sunchoeun are in jail awaiting trial.
