Macao holds light festival to attract more tourists

MACAO (Xinhua) – “Macao Light Festival 2018” kicked off here in China’s Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) on Sunday night, featuring light shows and various activities.

The event, running from Sunday to Dec. 31, was held for four consecutive years. It was organised by Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) and co-organised by Civic and Municipal Affairs Bureau, Cultural Affairs Bureau and Sports Bureau.

The opening ceremony featured a drone show for the first time. A total of 150 drones floated in the night sky and lined up into characters and patterns manifesting the characteristics of Macao.

The festival also includes elements as gastronomy, humanity, architecture, culture and creativity, as well as an array of interactive games and light installations designed to enchant the audiences.
