Cambodia-Vietnam cooperation pledge

Cambodia and Vietnam vowed to enhance their cooperation on issues of security and affirmed that neither country will allow armed forces of another nation to use their territory as a base or transit way for military operations.  Nor will they tolerate hostile forces using their respective territories to sabotage or interfere in the domestic affairs of the other.

The commitment was made at the meeting in Vietnam between Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn and his Vietnamese counterpart, Pham Binh Minh.

Prak Sokhonn’s official visit brought agreement for the countries to work together in matters of agriculture, security, border issues, education, culture, tourism, and transportation.

Both sides are pleased with the current collaboration and agreed to coordinate the exchange of information on natural disasters, smuggling, illegal logging , drug-related crime, trans-national crime with the intent to combat these offences and help the victims thereof.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed Vietnam’s anticipation of the visits of Prime Minister Hun Sen and of King Norodom Sihamoni.
