STUNG TRENG, Nov. 5 (KHMER TIMES) – 68 Vietnamese citizens were arrested by immigration police in a blitz in Stung Treng Province Tuesday.
Among the 68 were four women and were arrested in 15 locations throughout the province while countless others had fled.
Many were found to be working in wood factories and had no legal or valid travel documents of work permits.
Immigration police will continue their nationwide crackdown on foreigners working in Cambodia without valid work permits and invalid travel documents.
General Uk Heisela of the Immigration Police told Khmer Times that the operations in Stung Treng will continue as they are aware of the possible locations of other Vietnamese illegals in that province.
“ We will continue with our efforts to root out the illegals, all illegals and not just Vietnamese across the country,” he said.
