Cambodia is ready to celebrate the three-day Sea Festival in Koh Kong province next month while Cambodian and Thai authorities will allow their people to use identification cards to cross the border, an official said.

Tourism Minister Thong Khon said that both Cambodian and Thai peoples who want to cross the border for visits will use ID cards instead of passports during three days.

“For our people and Thai people who wish to cross the border to visit either Thailand or Cambodia, they do not need to use passports for crossing the border, but they can use ID cards,” Mr Khon said “We will cooperate with each other to make it convenient for the people of both countries.”

Mr Khon also asked Thai authorities to allow their people to cross the border within 24 hours during three days of Sea Festival, which will begin on December 14 and ends on December 16.
