The National Committee for Organising National and International Festivals reported that about 4.5 million people visited the Water Festival 2018 in Phnom Penh.
Eleven boats sank in the course of the races, and 115 oarsmen fished from the Tonlé Sap River. On land, 182 persons got lost in the crowd and required assistance.
The report said that the festival ran smoothly, all in all, and the armed forces and authorities did a good job keeping the peace and upholding public safety. Proof of this is that there no major security issues arose during the three-day fest.
