Kampong Cham provincial police on Saturday arrested a businessman who crashed his car into his house gate and also hit two other cars while drunk in Kampong Cham city.

Major San Pheng,  deputy chief of the provincial traffic police department, identified the driver as Sok Ty, 35, a property broker living in the city.

He said that at about 7.30pm on Saturday, Mr Ty returned home after drinking with some friends in the city.

Maj Pheng noted that when he got into the house he got into an argument with his wife who scolded him for drinking heavily.

“He was drunk and became angry with his wife for criticising his drinking habit,” he said. “He then got back into car and drove off, hitting the house gate and two cars parked outside neighbouring houses, badly damaging them.”

“He then swerved into a nearby park and crashed into a tree, causing the car to come to a stop,” Maj Pheng added.
