With the fight against HIV at a crucial point, AHF Cambodia is set to host World AIDS Day events to celebrate progress made and remind the world that much work remains to be done.
Phnom Penh, Cambodia (Nov 16th, 2018) – As AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF) prepares for events across the globe to commemorate World AIDS Day 2018 on Dec. 1, AHF Cambodia will host a press conference to introduce its planned activities for its celebration in the country.
While we praise the progress made thus far and honor those who have come before us, AHF reminds everyone on World AIDS Day that “The War on AIDS Has Not Been Won!”. There are nearly 1 million people still dying of HIV/AIDS-related causes every year and 1.8 million new infections annually.
World AIDS Day in Cambodia will include a wide verity of activities, including a concert, the celebration of AHF’s 1 million patients in care and the introduction of AHF Cambodia’s mobile testing project. The precursor to the commemoration will be a press conference and orientation event as described below.

The arrival of the government, organizations and communities over 1000 participants an Announcement to start the event by H.E Ieng Mouly, Chairman of Cambodia’s National AIDS Authority, with Grand parade at Koh Pich, Flashmob, and free blood testing.

Followed by Concert starring super star Mr. Khemarak Sereymon, Mr. Oun, comedian and other surprised celebrities. This concert is free and open for everyone come and Join us.
“We hope that this World AIDS Day will reinvigorate the HIV response both in Cambodia and across the globe,” said Chhim Sarath, Asia Bureau Chief. “There are an estimated 67,000 people living with HIV in Cambodia, and we’re proud to say that over half of them are receiving care and treatment from AHF support. These World AIDS Day events will help show the country that HIV is 100% preventable and treatable, and for those living with the virus, they can still live healthy and productive lives with the right support and access to antiretroviral medicine.”
