BANGKOK (Xinhua) – Deputy Bangkok Governor Thaweesak Lertprapan has said that the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) will crack down on prostitutes, beggars and vagabonds hanging around.

During a meeting with Bangkok councilors, Mr Thaweesak confirmed that the BMA will launch operations to make the city’s landmark spots clear of prostitutes, beggars and vagabonds.

Khlong Lord canal area has become a venue where most of Bangkok’s prostitutes were known to be hooked up by their “customers” at night, according to the deputy governor.
