World Taekwondo President Chungwon Choue delivered a taekwondo development fund during his recently concluded whistle stop tour of the Cambodian capital this week.

The president also attended the opening ceremony of the 2018 Cambodia National Taekwondo Championships at the South Korean-built Booyoung Khmer Taekwondo Center.

“We will continue to support the promotion of taekwondo in Cambodia,” said President Choue.

Minister of Education, Youth, and Sport Hang Chuon Naron, who also serves as President of the Cambodian Taekwondo Federation, thanked Mr. Choue for the contribution.

The parties agreed to collaborate in organising a tournament in July 2019 with the Minister also saying he would consider expanding the existing taekwondo curriculum available to young Cambodians.

President Choue also met with Cambodian Minister of Tourism and National Olympic Committee President Thong Khon who urged further development of the sport in preparation for the national games and the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.
