Bavet city police in Svay Rieng province on Wednesday arrested three foreigners, including a woman, for allegedly using and trafficking 100 grams of crystal meth in the province.
Captain Bun Lim, deputy chief of the city’s criminal investigation department, identified them as Phou Chivai, 28, a Malaysian national and general manager of a Chinese-owned KTV, Vang Yaingdeoun, 22, a Vietnamese national and casino gambler, and Daing Chi Phoeung Feng, 26, a Vietnamese national working as a masseuse.
He noted that all three were arrested at about 5.30pm on Wednesday after police raided their rental house in Bavet city.
“They were arrested by our police in accordance with a report from the owner of the house who said he saw them smoking drugs,” Cap Lim said. “They were arrested red-handed while they were caught smoking the drugs in their rental house.”
He noted that after their arrests, police seized three packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing nearly 100 grams, two mobile phones and other drug paraphernalia.
Cap Lim said that after their arrests all three tested positive for drugs.
He said the three are accused by police of drug use and trafficking and are still detained for more questioning by provincial police.
Brigadier General King Khorn, provincial police chief, confirmed yesterday that the three foreigners are still detained at the provincial police headquarters and will be sent to provincial court today.
