Cambodia and China vow more cooperation

Cambodia and China have promised to boost mutual cooperation and promote their relationship, and China announced that it will continue its support for Cambodia.

The commitment was made in the meeting on November 2 between President of the National Assembly Heng Samrin and Zhang Chunxian, Vice-Chairperson of the National People’s Congress Standing Committee (China).

Keo Piseth, cabinet chief of the National Assembly, spoke with reporters to inform them that the Mr Zhang’s visit was aimed at augmenting cooperation and cementing the relationship of both countries, especially on the parliamentarian level.

He noted that Mr Samrin finds the cooperation between the legislatures of both countries improving and becoming stronger, and the mutual visits on all parliamentarian levels advantageous for the exchange of experience.

Mr Piseth added that Mr Zhang commended the rapid development of Cambodia and affirmed China’s wish to continue its support for further development and the CPP’s efforts in that direction.

As part of his visit to the Kingdom, Mr Zhang will meet with Prime Minister Hun Sen.
