King Norodom Sihamoni, in his capacity as head of the Supreme Council of Magistracy, on Saturday promoted several prosecutors and deputy prosecutors as part of a reshuffle involving officials in seven provinces and Phnom Penh.
Sam Pracheameanith, council spokesman, could not be reached for comment, but local media that the appointments were made during a council meeting on Saturday.
He said that Phnom Penh Municipal Court prosecutor Yet Chakrya was appointed as deputy general prosecutor of the Supreme Court.
Mr Pracheameanith noted that Kampong Speu provincial prosecutor Keo Sothea was promoted to replace Mr Chakrya, while Preah Sihanouk provincial deputy prosecutor Ros Saram is the new Koh Kong provincial prosecutor.
He added that Preah Sihanouk provincial prosecutor Chat Soreaksmey was moved to be Kampong Speu provincial prosecutor.
Mr Pracheameanith said Koh Kong provincial prosecutor Bou Bun Hang was appointed as Prey Veng provincial prosecutor to replace Meas Sopheak, who was promoted to deputy general prosecutor of the Appeal Court.
