The Republic of Korea celebrates its National Day or Gaecheonjeol in their language every October 3. To commemorate the said occasion, South Korean Ambassador H.E. Mr. Oh Nak-young and
Mrs. Na In-hee gathered key officials, government representatives, diplomats and friends from the media for a night of celebration and thanksgiving on October 18 at The Great Duke Phnom Penh.
The holiday celebrates the legendary formation of the first Korean state of Gojoseon in 2333 BC. Traditionally, it is regarded as the date for the founding of the Korean people.
