MOSCOW (NNN-SANA) – Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Sergei Ryabkov, said that, Washington’s plans, to impose sanctions on the countries participating in the reconstruction process in Syria, are “an act of sabotage.”

Ria Novosti, quoted Mr Ryabkov as saying, on Wednesday, that, the essence of the US policy is still the same, represented by impeding the work of the legitimate government in Syria, and the countries that are fighting ‘in deeds not words,’ the terrorist threat in the country.

The US policy aims to hinder the guarantor states’ work, and Astana and Sochi efforts, he said, adding that, Washington is ignoring the need for creating the appropriate conditions, for the return of the displaced Syrians, the recovery of the economy, and the rebuilding of infrastructure in Syria.

He affirmed that all the statements made, on Washington’s interest, in ‘a bright future for Syria,’ are nothing but “lame excuses.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that the reconstruction process and the intensification of efforts for the return of displaced people to Syria are now a key task in it.

Mr Putin made his remarks following talks held with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah in Sochi on Wednesday.

The Russian President indicated that the task now is the reconstruction process and undertaking collective efforts for the return of the displaced Syrians to their country, in addition to forming the constitutional committee.

For his part, Mr al-Sisi said that he and Mr Putin discussed the situation in Syria, agreeing to continue consultations regarding the development of the situation in the country and supporting the political solution for the crisis, with emphasis on the need for preserving Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
