The Labour Minister yesterday said the Cambodia Decent Work Country Programme needs to be joined by all stakeholders in order to reduce poverty and create jobs.
Cambodia has implemented the programme four times and it will soon commence its fifth phase soon.
Labour Minister Ith Samheng said during a national workshop yesterday to develop the programme for 2019 until 2023 that it is key to creating more work opportunities and safe working environments, as well as social protection.
“This programme will help to prioritise focus on targeted support to vulnerable workers and effectively link relevant national development priorities in support of 2023 Sustainable Development Goals,” Mr Samheng said.
Mr Samheng said the programme also focuses on promoting professionalism, labour rights and improving job growth.
“This Decent Work Programme is organised in accordance to policies set by the government, and it will last for five years,” he added.
