October 3, 1990, the German reunification, following the fall of the Berlin Wall, marked the end of the painful division in Germany. 28 years on, the country continues to foster unity among its people and openness to international cooperation and multilateralism. To celebrate the Day of German Unity, the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany led a dinner reception on October 4th at the Raffles Hotel Le Royal. German Ambassador Ingo Karsten, who led the celebration, said, “it is the spirit of dialogue and openness that fosters progress, growth and prosperity. This, both Cambodia and Germany have learned from their recent history.”
