KATHMANDU (Xinhua) – India is working with Nepal to complete an oil pipeline project linking India’s Motihari city and Nepal’s Amlekhgunj city within 2019, the Petroleum Minister of India, Dharmendra Pradhan said here on Saturday.

The Indian minister made the remarks on Saturday while visiting Janakpur, a famous religious city in eastern Nepal.

“ India and Nepal are now working together to build the 69-km oil pipeline from Motihari in India to Amlekhgunj in Nepal. We believe that the construction of the pipeline will be finished within one year,” Mr Pradhan said.

The minister also said that his country is ready to explore possibilities of laying another pipeline from India to Nepal for LPG and pipeline natural gas for fertiliser plant.
