The scholarships will cover school fees and living expenses and will be worth up to $15,000, Smart announced yesterday during the programme’s official launch.
The SmartEdu Scholarship Programme is aimed at students that earned good grades throughout high-school but lack the funds to attend their university of choice.
“The scholarship programme aims to positively impact students’ lives and allow them to pursue higher education. It is particularly meant for students that work hard and get good grades, but do not have the money required to attend the top universities,” said Smart Axiata’s CEO Thomas Hundt.
“Smart is proud of helping 20 students in the country start a new chapter in their lives.”
