Over 300 workers gathered at the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training to demand compensation from their former employer, Ghim Li (Cambodia) Pte, Ltd., after it closed.

They demand seniority-based compensation for the closure, and that the workers transferred to the new workplace retain their salary, seniority and other benefits.

One of the ex-Ghim Li workers, Chey Sopha, said that after the factory shut down some 2000 employees were sent to the GG Fashion factory.  It seems that the new location doesn’t offer good work condition for them.

Ms. Sopha said that her representatives are meeting with the ministry, and the ministry has asked the company to resolve the problem.
