At the new Council of Ministers meeting (Sept.7) the Prime Minister announced that all civil servants, members of the armed forces, and retired officials will receive $12.50 for Pchum Ben Day, an expenditure that will amount to a total of about $7 million.
He also declared the “Rectangular Strategy” Phase 4 for the new government will focus on human resources, infrastructure, and water and electricity availability. He will have the details printed and distributed to all government members.
The premier instructed all officials to serve the people and not hurt them.
It was announced on September 6 that former RCAF commander-in-chief Gen Pol Saroeun, former RCAF deputy commander-in-chief General Kun Kim, and former RCAF deputy commander-in-chief General Meas Sophea were all given senior minister titles.
Land Management Minister Chea Sophara, Finance Minister Aun Pornmoniroth, and Foreign Affairs Minister Prak Sokhonn were elevated to Deputy Prime Ministers.
