One of Asia’s biggest construction equipment and building materials events kicked off yesterday in Bangkok with the participation of more than 500 brands.
The expo combines two renowned fairs in one event: Intermat Asean – the construction-related trade show with the largest number of international participants in the region – and Concrete Asia, which centres on concrete surfaces, decorative concrete, material handling, concrete production, cement, building materials and construction equipment and machinery.
Loy Joon How, general manager of Impact Exhibition Management, one of the event’s organisers, said they are expecting 9,000 visitors from 40 countries.
The latest technologies, machinery and materials in the construction sector will be showcased at the event, he added.
Isabelle Alfano, construction business unit director at Comexposium, also an organiser, said this year Intermat Asean is focusing on earthmoving and demolition, roads, minerals and foundations.
“We are confident that holding Intermat Asean and Concrete Asia side by side will help deliver the best possible synergies and bring real added value to both local and regional buyers and visitors,” Ms Alfano said.
“Both shows serve as the perfect trade platform for the industry to explore the myriad of opportunities available in the region, as well as discover the innovation in Asia.”
The three-day event is being held at Impact Exhibition and Convention Center Hall in Bangkok from September 6-8.
