PHNOM PENH, August 6, (Khmer Times) – The construction of new headquarters of Cambodia Securities Exchange Co., Ltd. (CSX) located in Daun Penh district is taking much longer to complete than planned.

Construction was begun in December 2012 by the Royal Mekong Construction and Development Pte., Ltd., and was supposed to be finished by the end of 2013.

The Royal Mekong Construction and Development offered no information as to why there has been such a long delay in the completion of the project, nor when it will befinished.

Lumun Soleil, deputy director of Market Operation Department of CSX said that, since his company only covers 45 percent of the costs, it is not responsible for the project.  The Ministry of Economy and Finance, bearing 55 percent of the $4 million costs, is in charge.

An official at The Ministry of Economy and Finance could not be reached for comment at this time.

The CSX office will still be located on the 25th Floor of Canadia Tower until the new headquarters is finished.
