A stretch of National Road 4 today remained closed due to the flooding at Samraong bridge in Preah Sihanouk province’s Kampong Seila district, officials said.
According to Preah Sihanouk provincial administration, the flood is hitting a 300-meter stretch of National Road 4 again at Samraong bridge of Kilometre No 116 and 117
“Due to flooding at Koki and Samraong bridges in Kampong Seila district, the authority has closed traffic for a while,” it said.
Yun Min, Preah Sihanouk provincial governor, today visited Samraong bridge where it was submerged and ordered his officials to take boats to carry people and asked all motorists to use National Road 3.
Mr Min said the road will be closed until the flooding completely recedes.
“The flood water has hit the national road 4 since Saturday till Sunday. It still hits the national road 4 at Samraong bridge,” he said.
The Ministry of Water Resource announced last week that Cambodia will suffer from tropical storm Bebinca. The storm will continue to affect coastline provinces such as Preah Sihanouk and Koh Kong on Friday and Saturday.
