Drug dealers nabbed over ice trafficking

Kampong Speu provincial police on Wednesday arrested 15 suspected drug dealers who allegedly trafficked nearly half a kilogram of crystal methamphetamine in the province.

“They were members of a gang which distributes drugs to users in the province,” said Major Ly Vannak, a provincial anti-drug police officer. “Police spent months monitoring their activities before we could arrest them with real evidence.”

“Police located them after they sold drugs to an undercover officer and we arrested them after raiding their rental houses in the province’s Samrong Tong district,” he added.

Maj Vannak noted that police seized 22 packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing nearly half a kilogram, two drug scales, six phones, six samurais sword, two AK-47 rifles, homemade weapons and other drug paraphernalia from them.

Maj Vannak said that the suspects were still detained for questioning and will be sent to Kampong Speu Provincial Court today.
