Preah Sihanouk provincial police on Sunday detained 29 Chinese nationals, including 14 sex workers, during a raid on a massage shop offering sex services in Sihanoukville’s Bei commune.
Provincial police chief Major General Chuon Narin said yesterday that seven men were arrested for operating the shop, while eight customers and the women were released after questioning.
He identified the suspects as Chen Zhi Min, 41, the massage shop owner; Wu Siang Yun, 44, the cashier; Xu Fei, 29, who managed the women; and four workers Zhuang Fei Yu, 37, Chen Gang, 35, Zhang Bing, 27, and Shi You Dan, 36.
Maj Gen Narin said police found used and unused condoms in the shop and sent the suspects to the provincial court for charges to be laid.
Provincial deputy prosecutor Kieng Suntaro said yesterday that the seven were presented to him for further questioning at about 3pm yesterday. They are expected to be charged tomorrow.
Preah Sihanouk provincial police also on Sunday night detained seven Chinese nationals who were distributing leaflets advertising sex services with pictures of scantily clad women along O’Chhoeuteal beach in Sihanoukville’s Buon commune.
Maj Gen Narin said on Monday that his officers detained six Chinese nationals who were distributing the leaflets on the beach and another man who was leaving the advertisements on car windscreens.
