Police detain 29 Chinese during massage shop raid

Preah Sihanouk provincial police detained 29 Chinese nationals, including 14 sex workers, during a raid on a massage shop offering sex services in Sihanoukville’s Bei commune.

Provincial police chief Major General Chuon Narin said that seven men were arrested for operating the shop, while eight customers and the women were released after questioning.

He identified the suspects as Chen Zhi Min, 41, the massage shop owner; Wu Siang Yun, 44, the cashier; Xu Fei, 29, who managed the women; and four workers Zhuang Fei Yu, 37, Chen Gang, 35, Zhang Bing, 27, and Shi You Dan, 36.

Maj Gen Narin said police found used and unused condoms in the shop and sent the suspects to the provincial court for charges to be laid.

Provincial deputy prosecutor Kieng Suntaro said yesterday that the seven were presented to him for further questioning at about 3pm today. They are expected to be charged tomorrow.
