Sri Lanka sets up 25 new tourist police posts

COLOMBO (Xinhua) – Sri Lanka is setting up 25 new tourist police posts in strategic places, covering all main tourist destinations across the country for tourism security. Inspector General of Police(IGP), Pujith Jayasundara said the decision was made after discussions with Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority. A new uniform will be introduced to the Tourist Police Division, allowing it to build more cordial relations with tourists visiting Sri Lanka. Officers of the Tourist Police Division will also be given language training on Chinese, Hindi and French.
