Dear fellow Singaporeans and friends of Singapore,

Happy 53rd National Day to SINGAPORE!!

On this special occasion, Singapore Club Cambodia (SCC) will be organising our 2nd Carnival-style Exhibition at Diamond Island (Koh Pich), Halls K & L on Saturday, 11th August, from 11am to 5pm. A full page advertisement for this event can also be found in this special supplement in Khmer Times.

KT : What is the highlight of this event?
Firstly, we will have about 50 booths set up by Singapore-linked companies operating in Cambodia from the Airline, Service, Education, Banking, Food and Beverage and other sectors. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about these Companies and sample our well-known Singapore Food which can be found here in Phnom Penh. Secondly, we will have a stage to broadcast the 53rd Singapore National Day parade and showcase the launch of SCC’s “Shiok, Lah!” magazine. In addition to the entertainment onstage, we will also have 4 Lucky Draw segments at 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, and a final draw at 4pm. There are attractive prizes to be won, including tickets for a round trip to Singapore. Finally, we will also have a kids’ corner featuring a Singapore-themed face painting station, and a Bouncy Castle.

KT : Who can attend this event?
Everyone is welcome! Tickets are priced at U$2.00, and will entitle the attendee to a free can of Sunkist juice and a glass of draft Tiger Beer. Ticket holders will also have the chance to participate in the Lucky Draw! Singaporeans can get free tickets by reserving through the Singapore Embassy or the SCC.

KT : What is the “Shiok, Lah!” Magazine?
The “Shiok, Lah!” magazine is published once every 2 years by the SCC. For the last edition, 3,000 copies were printed and distributed to Embassies, Hotels, Restaurants, Offices and visiting trade delegations. In this Edition, we hope to share insights on hot topics relating to Education, Banking, Property markets and opportunities in Cambodia. Readers will be pleased to note the many Singaporean-owned or Singapore-related companies that are showcased in this magazine.
We have also highlighted key attractions in Cambodia for our newcomer Singaporeans and friends of Singapore; and the various activities organised by SCC for you to experience a “home away from home”. These include social events such as the Chinese New Year Celebrations, Family Day, Singapore National Day, Mid-Autumn Festival, Christmas Celebration and business-networking events such as our monthly Shiok Nites. Newcomers can tap into the SCC’s various platform to build friendships and seek advice on how to better navigate the business and social environment in Cambodia. Even if you are simply looking for “kakis (friends)” to hunt down the best eating places in Cambodia, you are more than welcomed!

KT : We would like to wish Singapore Club Cambodia a successful event. Do you have anything to add?
I would like to thank all the Sponsors, members, and friends of SCC for your continuous support and trust invested in me and my Executive Committee.

This has given me great encouragement to serve as the SCC’s 11th President!
Here’s wishing the Singaporean community in Cambodia, and our friends/partners, every success in their future endeavors in this Kingdom of Wonder!

NG CHOR YEE
President
Singapore Club Cambodia 2017 – 2019
