Zaman University celebrated the 4th Annual Commencement Ceremony for the Class of 2018 at Sokha Hotel, Phnom Penh. The event was attended by about 700 guests, including Zaman University’s faculty members, staff, families and government officials.

During the momentous ceremony, Deth Sok Udom, rector of Zaman University, stated that, “Zaman University is proud of the successes and achievements of our graduates from the past three years. It is my pleasure to point out that almost all of them are currently holding good positions in national and international organisations, as well as in reputable private institutions.”

Mr Udom continued, “Likewise, about 35 percent of our alumni are pursuing their graduate studies in leading universities around the world, while the rest have embarked on the exciting entrepreneurial journey of starting their own businesses.”

The batch’s two valedictorians, Sarun Bunnaline and Pok Ylong, shared their excitement and pride by expressing their gratitude to their families, as well as by cherishing the good memories with their fellow graduates with whom they had spent great time during their undergraduate studies.

“Our experiences and challenges have brought us one step closer to become who we are to today. We have developed not only as students, but also as individuals.” said Ms Bunnaline, who majored in Banking and Finance.

A digital arts and design major, Mr Ylong said, “Please always be a positive thinker, because everything that happens in your university life will guide you to be more confident and develop you for the next phase of life.” He added, “People are coming to your life so be open, accept, and support them because it hard to find who you can walk with or who you can cycle with.”

H.E Eang Sophalleth, Honorary Chairman of Zaman Company, mentioned that all the graduates will find different paths after their graduation and they will represent themselves, their family and Cambodia. He advised the graduates to remember three values they should always maintain: be respectful, virtuous, and honest.

H.E Lav Chhiv Eav, Undersecretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sport, who presided the ceremony, also praised the reputable quality of education offered by Zaman University, especially from his personal experience of having sent relatives to study at the university.

This year, the 72 graduates received their bachelor’s degree in the following majors: Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Digital Arts and Design, Management of Information Systems, Banking and Finance, Business Administration.
