Landslides kill 8 in Nepal

KATHMANDU (Xinhua) – Seven children and a woman were killed following landslides triggered by torrential rainfall in mid-western Nepal on Sunday. Their bodies were recovered from under the rubble of two houses at Thatibazar area of Jajarkot District. People living in another six houses of the same village have been rescued and temporarily shifted to a nearby village. According to National Emergency Operation Centre at least 65 people lost their lives and 363 families have been displaced due to the landslides triggered by incessant rainfalls in this monsoon season.
