PHNOM PENH, October 8, (Khmer Times) – Prime Minister Hun Sen and senior ministers will attend the 10th Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM) Summit next week in Milan, Italy.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation’s issued a press release on Wednesday to this effect.
On October 16 -17, Mr. Hun Sen and Cambodian delegates, including Foreign Affairs Minister Hor Namhong, and Commerce Minister Sun Chanthol, will attend the 10th ASEM Summit.
The President of the European Council, Herman van Rompuy, will chair the summit in association with the President of the European Commission, Jose Manuel Barroso.
This year’s theme will touch down on “Responsible Partnership for Sustainable Growth and Security”.
The meeting is expected to exchange views on a broad range of issues that reflect the enlarging scope of the relationship between EU and Asia.
Created in 1996, ASEM serves as a forum for EU-Asia discussions and cooperation. The summit is held once every two years.
