Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court yesterday charged a man accused of molesting several girls at a club in Poipet city, where he beat two security guards when confronted over the accusations.
Major Nuon Ninaro, commander of the city’s military police, identified the accused as Lorm Kimleap, 32, and said that he was charged with intentional acts of violence with aggravating circumstances. He was arrested on Saturday.
Maj Ninaro said that the accused went to the Thach Down Night Club in the city’s Poipet commune at about 11pm on Saturday and drank and danced there until about 2am the next morning.
He said Mr Kimleap became drunk and touched the breasts of several women when he danced with them.
Maj Ninaro said three woman complained to the two security guards who then escorted the accused out of the nightclub.
“The accused was angry with the two guards for stopping him from dancing and evicting him from the nightclub,” he said. “He punched them several times on the face and nose, causing serious injuries.”
Maj Ninaro identified the victims as Run Channa, 52, and Kong Dy, 53, and said they were sent to a referral hospital in the district for treatment.
He said that after beating up the two guards, the accused went back into the nightclub.
Maj Ninaro said the nightclub manager told him to leave, but he refused and police were called to arrest him.
Mr Kimleap is now in prison pending his trial.
