Newly Elected Council Members must Declare Assets

PHNOM PENH, (Khmer Times) — While existing council members of the 2nd  mandate who were re-elected can wait until 2015 to declare their  assets and liabilities, new council members have 30 days after taking their position to file their reports.
 
Mr. Om Yentieng, president of the Anti-Corruption Unit, announced the  procedures last week. Any council members who resigned or were not  re-elected also have 30 days to file their final declaration of assets  
and liabilities.
 
There are a total of 3,324 council members, of which 1,550 are newly  elected. Re-elected council members number 1,774, and 1,502 are  leaving office.
