Players and coaches from Visakha Football club, in cooperation with the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia, organised and took part in a football charity event held in Prey Veng province yesterday.

The program saw students and orphans – both boys and girls – from five schools receive football training and coaching from the clubs’ players and coaches. The event was presided over by Sar Sokha, Vice President of Union of Youth Federation of Cambodia. Youths were also given sporting goods and equipment to aid their football development.

Hok Sochetra, Visakha Club Manager, said it was the second time the club had organised such an event, “We held the first one prior to the Khmer New Year, he said. “But that time we did not provide any equipment for the kids. This time though we did and it was a success.”

After gaining promotion last year, Visakha play in the top tier of the Cambodian Football pyramid. They boast a slew of talent including Cambodian national team regualars Keo Sokpheng and Rous Samoeun. They sit third in the current C-League standings.
