Young Boy Drowns

PHNOM PENH, September 26, (Khmer Times) – A 13-year-old boy, Soeur Rattanak, drowned while swimming in Porm Pa creek, in Tuek Phos district, Kampong Chhnang province during the Pchum Ben holidays.

The boy and his mother had gone down to the creek on Tuesday to sell green mangoes.

Police officer Liv Bunsonng’s report stated that while the boy’s mother was doing business he went for a swim and disappeared after 10 or 20 minutes.

The boy had recently been in medical care for a heart condition, which may have played a role in his demise.

After a short search, the lifeless body was found and returned to his family, following preliminary investigations.
