Chief Bank chairman and founder Zhou Song Xie said the inauguration yesterday of the bank’s first building in Cambodia will increase its determination to work to improve the lives of its customers.

The chairman said after three years operating as a specialised bank, Chief has a wide loan portfolio and many valuable customers in the Kingdom.
Chief received its commercial license this year, the 40th such license granted by the National Bank of Cambodia.
The bank said it intends to provide a wide range of financial products as well as efficient and innovative services to take advantage of the country’s rapid economic growth.
“Cambodia has been one of the strongest preforming economies in Southeast Asia over the past decade in terms of GDP growth due to its open door policy on foreign investment. Chief is one foreign investor among many other banks from Japan, Korea, Malaysia and China,” he said.
Mr Zhou said the bank currently employs more than 50 local staff.
“Some key positions at the bank are held by the local staff with years’ of experience, and the board of the bank is quite generous in providing professional training including overseas academic study and workshops to the local staff.”
