The National Election Committee will move polling stations to new locations if they are affected by floods on July 29 as heavy rain affects parts of Cambodia.
Some areas have already been flooded.
NEC deputy secretary-general and director of its press reaction team Som Sorida said the NEC had been monitoring polling stations in all 25 city and provinces to see how many would be flooded on election day.
“We are prepared election materials for when some polling stations are flooded and the location needs to change,” he said.
The Ministry of Water Resource and Meteorology said parts of Koh Kong, Battambang, Kampong Speu, and Tbong Khmum provinces were flooded or faced floods.
Some commune election committees have reported to the NEC that some polling stations are flooded in several provinces.
