AfDB to fund “Digital Tunisia 2020” project

TUNIS (Xinhua) – The Tunisian parliament has approved an agreement with African Development Bank (AfDB) on a $83 million loan to fund the “Digital Tunisia 2020” project. The credit, to be repaid over 19 years with a grace period of six years, will be used to finance the project developed by Tunisian Ministry of Communication Technologies and Digital Economy. The AfDB will provide almost 53 percent of the investment, while the rest will be funded by Tunisian government.This project aims to develop digital governance as well as a digital system for Tunisia’s industrial and commercial sectors.
