A husband and wife targeted by police as drug distributors were arrested on Sunday for allegedly trafficking nearly half a kilo of crystal methamphetamine in Prey Veng province.
Chey Chhengmeng, 34, and Huoth Khchey, 27, were detained when provincial military police raided their house in Prey Veng’s Mesang district.
Major Leang Samol of the provincial anti-drug military police department said they sold drugs to users in Prey Veng province. “They were caught red-handed when military police raided their house while they were selling drugs to undercover military police,” he said.
After their arrests, police seized 28 packages of crystal methamphetamine weighing nearly half a kilo.
They also seized a drug scale, three phones, and other drug-related material from the house. Both have been sent to the provincial military police headquarters for further investigation.
They have been accused of drug trafficking and will be sent to the provincial court after the military police have finished their investigation.
